Whistles

For several years I have been making whistles. Most of the time, I make turtles because I love to make them. So most of the whistles that you will see on my blog will be turtles, but occasionally there will be other animals. These turtles haven't been glazed yet. They are bisque fired, in either wonder white stoneware or speckled brown stoneware. The white turtle is a sea turtle. It is actually an ocarina, which means it makes more than one sound. The brown turtle is a box turtle and it is also an ocarina. I think they are pretty cute, and so do most people. I sell them like crazy! If you're interested, just send me a comment.

Western Wake Farmers Market

Hey guys! Boy has it been HOT! I was at the Western Wake Farmer's Market in Morrisville (Carpenter Village) this past Saturday showing off my pottery, hoping to sell some, you know the deal. I thought I was going to melt! It was ridiculously hot. What was even more ridiculous was the fact that I was out in it. I have decided (for sanity's sake) that I will not be present at the Farmer's Market anymore until September. It is just too hot. The only thing people seemed to be interested in was the vegetables and food. I don't blame them. I bought some corn on the cob myself. Anyway, if anyone wants to see more of my work, just keep coming to the blog. I will continue blogging about my pieces and will post more pics. You can contact me if you want to know more about certain pieces. Thanks guys for your support. I hope to hear from some of you real soon!

Sorry!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I have had problems with my camera and I have been extremely busy. Anyway, I finally got my camera working so I took some photos of some of my latest pottery. As promised, here are a couple of photos of my masks for the Art-o-mat I spoke of in my last post.

Art-O-Mat

Hey guys, sorry I haven't talked to you in a few days. I have been extremely busy getting ready for the end of the school year; exams, cleanup, whining kids, you know. Actually, it hasn't been bad at all this time. Anyway, I have also been very busy making art for the Art-O-Mat. What?!? That's right! I am an Artist in Cellophane. I make pieces of art for an art machine. Here's the 411:
This guy in Winston Salem, named Clark Whittington, came up with the brilliant idea to revamp old cigarette machines, dudey them up, and turn them into art machines. How brilliant is that?!? Anyway, they can be found in community centers, art galleries, grocery stores, art stores, etc. all over the country (even overseas). I make pieces under the name of Mucho Mud (of course) and I have sold pieces in Hawaii, New York, California, Nebraska, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Washington D.C., North Carolina, and Massachusettes. It is a really cool thing to be a part of this. I really get a kick out of selling these pieces. I get a cut of funds, as does Clark and the business where the machine is located. Please look for these when you go out. You can also visit the website and see a sample of artists' work. I don't have a picture at this exact moment to post, but I will in the next day or so. So be on the look out for my African Mask art. I love these little guys AND I love being an Artist in Cellophane.

Birdhouses

Hey, check out my birdhouses. They come in different styles and sizes, and they make beautiful yard decorations. If I was a bird, I would LOVE to live in one of these. Tweet, tweet!

Western Wake Farmers Market

I will be at the Western Wake Farmers Market on June 12 and 26 from 8:00 until 12:00. Come out and see my pottery in person. The clay group I belong to - Cary Clay Cooperative - has potters out there every Saturday morning through August 14. Each Saturday may have different potters, but we all belong to the same group.

Baking Dishes

Here's a couple of baking dishes that I made. They are oven-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe. I used white stoneware with textured kiwi glaze on the first dish. The second dish is made of brown stoneware with robin's egg glaze. Which one do you like best?
